Athletes and coaches will enjoy spectacular ceremonies, quality competition in great venues and the fun and friendship that will be a highlight of the official Special Olympics Village at Adelaide Shores, one of South Australia's premier holiday precincts. The Clare Valley Gourmet Weekend gives you the opportunity to celebrate the world-renowned wines of the beautiful Clare Valley.
The Vintage Tasting offers a unique opportunity to taste in excess of 120 unreleased Clare Valley wines at various stages of the winemaking process.
Local winemakers are on hand to guide you through the experience of tasting juice, ferments, barrel samples right through to finished wines. This is a fascinating insight into the winemaking process usually reserved for vintners.
Complementing the Vintage Tasting, local food group Clare Valley Cuisine provide tastings and sales of regional produce as well as light meals in the adjacent Main Pavilion. Taste and buy organic meats, cereals, carob, olive oil, free range eggs, condiments and much more.
The event continues a tradition that began in 1985. The Clare Valley Gourmet Weekend was the first of its kind in Australia and a pioneering group of local winemakers continue their innovative approach to food and wine, with an even bigger and better schedule of events encompassing the entire weekend. Des travels up to Clare Valley every year get a couple of mates together and book a bus with Des.

This is a truly amazing event where more than 12,000 people “take the day off” on a Wednesday in September and travel to the little town of Balaklava 100kms north of Adelaide for a day of fun, food, fashion, wine and great racing. People enjoy the day in whatever fashion - enjoying our many public bars and food facilities to five-star dining in the lavish Corporate Marquees. The atmosphere is all about fun and festivity and everyone just can’t get enough of the experience!

The City to Bay fun run has been an annual event held in Adelaide for many years and 2010 is going to be the biggest year! The race starts in the CDB of Adelaide and continues down Anzac Highway into Glenelg the length is 12km, but there are many options of 3km, 6km or the 12km walking or running. If you need transport either to the start of this event or back from the finish line, get Des to take you there, and you don’t have to worry about getting your own way back!
